FAD Productions is an independent production and development company based in Melbourne.

Founded by industry experienced and award winning filmmakers Frank Bruzzese and David Forster, FAD Productions aims to broaden the personal perspective of its audience and also raise awareness and inquisitiveness within them. To do this, FAD is compelled to tell powerful human stories that will profoundly resonate, while remaining highly entertaining.

FAD Productions is currently developing a number of projects, collaborating with many of Australia’s best creatives, talent and crew.

Frank Bruzzese

Frank Bruzzese is a Melbourne based Producer and Production Manager for both film and television. Graduating with a degree in Media in 2004, Frank has worked with a variety of Australian television networks and production houses in varying capacity. Most recently Frank production managed the six part documentary series Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey for the ABC, Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam S2 for SBS and Line Produced the documentary, Jedi’s & Juggalos: Your Census Guide with John Safran, also on the ABC.

In partnership with David Forster, Frank produced the short film I Can Speak Swedish (2009), which premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. His second short, The Father (2011), this year debuted at Flickerfest and has also screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival as well as various other festivals. It has recently been selected for the prestigious BFI London Film Festival. Combined, both shorts have screened at over 50 festivals worldwide, with I Can Speak Swedish securing a 5 year distribution deal for cable TV in America.

Frank is currently production managing the second series of Laid for the ABC and is keen to continue producing good content for Australian screens.

David Forster

David Forster is a Melbourne based Screenwriter, Film Producer and Director.

He started studying a Bachelor of Music, specialising in classical voice at Adelaide University in 2002 but postponed it soon after to pursue other options.

At the age of 19 his first written work, a play with songs entitled ‘Do You Know The Way To Ballarat’ was premiered at the Adelaide Feast Festival and went on to an encore season at Melbourne’s Butterfly Club. From 2004 onwards David moved to Melbourne and concentrated on acting, landing numerous theatre parts including Simon the critically acclaimed ‘Like Stars in My Hands’ and ‘Object of Desire’ both at Melbourne’s iconic theatre, La Mama.

In 2009 David’s first film was an 18 minute short entitled ‘I Can Speak Swedish’ which he wrote, codirected and co-produced. His work on the film has earned him worldwide recognition and awards including ‘Best Comedy Short’ at the Academy accredited Rhode Island International Film Festival and ‘Best Short Film’ at the Canada International Film Festival. He has also garnered individual accolades for I Can Speak Swedish such as ‘Best Director’ at the Nevada Film Festival, chosen from over 1000 entries.

Since then David has been enrolled in a Bachelor of Film and Television at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts and Music, to solidify his creative vision as well as perfect valuable technical skills. During that time he has written and directed five films as part of his coursework and collaborated on over twenty others.

He is due to graduate at the end of 2012 and is shaping up to be one of this country’s most exciting and talented filmmakers
